An Eight wing gives the Nine's calm a firmer edge. Next to a 9w1, a 9w8 is more grounded and more assertive. A 9w1 tends to be orderly and idealistic, keeping the peace by doing things properly and staying out of conflict. A 9w8 tends to be practical and earthy, keeping the peace until pushed and then holding firm. Both find it hard to put themselves first, but the 9w8 is more likely to dig in, and the 9w1 to quietly hold themselves to a standard.
