7w6, The Adventurer with a Six wing

How the Six wing colours the Adventurer

A Six wing grounds the Seven's energy in people. Sevens with this wing still love new ideas and plans to look forward to, but for them the best adventures are shared ones. They tend to be warm, funny and loyal, and they often keep a close circle of friends they can count on, who can count on them in return.

The Six wing also brings a little more worry than other Sevens might admit to. 7w6s may keep plans and options open partly as a safety net, and they can be quicker to check in with others before leaping. That mix of fun and responsibility makes them good company and good friends. It can also leave them saying yes to too much, then feeling torn between the people relying on them and the next thing they'd love to do.

Growth, toward 5 Stress, toward 1 Wing 6

You might be a 7w6 if…

  • your favourite plans are the ones you make with friends.
  • you're up for anything, as long as your people are coming too.
  • you keep your options open partly so you never feel stuck.
  • you say yes to everyone and then struggle to keep up.

Strengths and watch-outs

Strengths

  • Playful, warm and loyal
  • Brings people together around good plans
  • Mixes optimism with a sense of responsibility

Watch-outs

  • Overcommits and spreads themselves too thin
  • Uses busyness to dodge worry or sadness
  • Finds it hard to let people down, even when they need to

What helps

What tends to help is choosing fewer plans and seeing them through with the people involved. 7w6s also grow by letting friends see the worry or sadness behind the fun. Like other Sevens, they find more satisfaction in going deep than in going wide.

7w6 or 7w8?

Next to a 7w8, a 7w6 is softer and more centred on people. A 7w8 tends to chase what they want with force and independence, and doesn't mind going it alone. A 7w6 tends to bring others along and feels better with a few people to rely on. Both love freedom and new experiences, but the 7w6 is more likely to feel the pull of loyalty, and the 7w8 the pull of getting their own way. If your fun is tied up with belonging, the Six wing may fit.
