7w8, The Adventurer with an Eight wing
How the Eight wing colours the Adventurer
An Eight wing gives the Seven's energy more force. Sevens with this wing still love new experiences and a full life, but they tend to go after what they want directly and with confidence. They're often quick to decide, quick to act and hard to put off. Where some Sevens dream up plans, a 7w8 is more likely to make them happen.
The Eight is a Gut type, so this wing adds an instinctive, physical drive to the Seven's busy mind. 7w8s can be bold, persuasive and hard to say no to, and they tend to bounce back fast and enjoy a challenge. The flip side is impatience: with limits, with slower people and with feelings that don't fit the plan. Pushing on can become a way of not stopping to notice what hurts.
You might be a 7w8 if…
- when you want something, you go and get it.
- you enjoy pushing past obstacles that would put other people off.
- you'd rather act and adjust than wait and plan.
- you get restless when people around you slow things down.
Strengths and watch-outs
Strengths
- Bold, energetic and decisive
- Turns ideas into action quickly
- Resilient and quick to recover from setbacks
Watch-outs
- Can push past other people's limits as well as their own
- Impatient with slowness, detail and difficult feelings
- May take on more than is wise, just because they can
What helps
What tends to help is pausing before acting and asking who else will be affected. 7w8s also grow by letting hard feelings in instead of outrunning them. Like other Sevens, they find more satisfaction in staying with one thing than in chasing the next.
7w8 or 7w6?
Next to a 7w6, a 7w8 is more independent and more forceful. A 7w6 tends to look for fun with people they trust and keeps a little caution in reserve. A 7w8 tends to chase what they want with less hesitation, alone if need be. Both are optimistic and hungry for life, but the 7w8 leans toward getting their own way, and the 7w6 toward keeping everyone on board. If your energy feels more like drive than play, the Eight wing may fit.
